Traveling Man

I have been a bad blogger.
For the first time in a long time, I hit the road for business. That is part of my job, it is something I have to do to put the bread on the table and the power gels in my bike jersey. There is no way to avoid that but when I heard that I had to leave town, my first reaction was being pissed off because it interfered with my training schedule. My second though was that I needed to get my priorities straightened out. My third thought was that I did have my priorities in order. Fourth thought,, stop thinking so much and deal with it. So I did.

Traveling is great for people watching. There are so many people traveling that you cannot help but see a lot of the good, bad and the ugly. Speaking of ugly, I would like to mention a lady I saw at DFW. It was evident that she was coming back from a beach vacation. The Mexican Caribbean T-shirt, duty-free liquor and corn-rowed hairdo were proof. She did not look very happy and I am thinking that she possible sobered up mid-flight and caught a glimpse of her hair. There is some hair / head shapes that are not meant for corn-rows. Red-hair is one of those hair colors.

An inanimate oddity that I noticed was what is in this picture. In case you cannot make it out, it is a windshield wiper on the SkyLink tram car at DFW. I had to snap a picture of it. I should have taken a better picture of it but I did not want to draw any attention to myself. I think the TSA is still pissed at me about the toothpaste incident of 2007 and the CO2 event of 2006. Anyway, this picture shows the wipers on a automatic tram, automatic as in no driver. Maybe someone can tell me why they put a wiper on a robotic vehicle. How much extra did DFW pay for these wipers? Didn't someone along the line think this through? And as always, I try to see the positive in most things,, Here I think I saw the worlds greatest salesman in action.
And yes I was able to get some training in while on the road.
